Another take on the Washburn serial numbering system --

Though fully eight digits, it's on a BT-2, so 1996-2000. If the serial number has any date validity whate...

Correct, Tony. The forum doesn't need to have a secure connection since there is no private or payment info stored here. This is the way the forum has always been set up.

I have recently been placed with this guitar, and I know NOTHING about it, having no Washburn experience at all. ( I did not see any other D42 listings).

Would appreciate any/all information regarding this guitar.  I would like to collect data, before ...

The D42SCE is a dreadnought size (large, but not the largest size) guitar. It has a solid wood soundboard, which is a pretty big deal because the soundboard's tone will improve with age and playing. The sides and back are made of "laminated" layers of ...

I know this is a really old thread so I apologize before hand. But I use to own a guitar identical to this very one. I was under the impression that it was a one off guitar. I bought it off eBay in 2005 and sold it back again on eBay in mid 2006. The ...

wow - thanks for all this information man. There's more to this than I thought. I'm gonna need a little while to think about all this stuff. Or maybe I'll just buy some pots and pickups from the sites you provided and hope for the best. I think the onl...

Help me identify my Washburn guitar? Please?

Many, many years ago I bought a guitar on eBay. It was listed as a Washburn N2, it was black, and the pictures showed the headstock featuring text that read "N2", and "Washburn Nuno Bettencourt Model", and also along with a Nuno signature printed near ...

Hi Erich

There are a lot of differences with your guitar but I believe you are in luck. First off the Bartolinis are almost guaranteed to be aftermarket mods. The tone knob has appeared on several N2s and is not as such a major anomaly, also the trem i...

I got this guitar recently.  I've always thought the PS was a cool Les Paulish guitar with some pizzazz.  It plays great and I thought I'd swap out the pickups right away but I have to say these Egnaters are good enough to delay that for now.  It sound...

Can someone tell me which model is the one of the photos exactly.
There's nothing under the name of washburn on the headstock, just USA  at the end
The seller says that the model is the mg120, but I do not see it very clear
Thanks

This appears to be an MG-120.  Some USA made MGs ( but not all) are marked in the neck pocket with a model number.

FWIW, that trem (Wilkinson VS-100) is correct for the MG-120.

Help, I can't identify my bass

Hi, I have a bass that looks exactly like a T24 but says Bantam Series on the headstock. The serial number is YAGG9393 written in gold on the back of the headstock, which doesn't seem to fit the usual numbering and position I see here.

At a guess, I'd say it's an early T24, maybe a demo run before it was decided to include it in the catalogue, so I'll say 2001.

Needing to call it something, they used a decal from the XB series that was coming to an end. Would not be the first ...
