I have a couple N5s with birdseye maple necks. It's likely they just had it in stock and that's what they used. Almost all N4s have maple necks. The exceptions are the padauk models.

thanks, I didn't know there are shims under the bridge, I have only bought 1 only acoustic electric... I change the bridge pins, nut, and tuners to Grover 18:1 black and put on new strings.. also...
